![]() ![]() ![]() Speaking of names, Starscream was also given a couple of strange nicknames by Budiansky: The Silver Snake and Pretty Poison. Ultimately, it was comics writer Bob Budiansky, who also named Megatron, that insisted on Starscream as this 'bot's name. Without further ado, here are some of the most shocking dark secrets when it comes to Starscream. In fact, the Decepticon Thundercracker (another fighter jet) was originally given the name Starscream. He's got quite a few dark secrets as far as his history is concerned, his origin story, and even some behind the scenes tidbits that went into the character. He believes himself to be the only bot in the universe capable of leading the Decepticons to victory. While Starscream's ambitions - or, rather, obsessions - with becoming the new leader of the Decepticons was never a secret to anyone, that does not mean there are not just a few secrets in this robot's closet. Starscream is the treacherous Decepticon second-in-command. If not for the fact that he was trying to overthrow Megatron and take over his throne every chance he got, he would be the ideal soldier that any one of the Transformers would be lucky enough to have on their side. Starscream is a Decepticon of many things: a gladiator, a scientist, a politician, a graduate of the Cybertron War Academy, but above all else, he is one of the strongest Decepticons of the bunch. The whole time, one of the more consistent Transformers characters to ever make an appearance is Megatron's right hand man, Starscream. In just about any of the many, many incarnations of Transformers universes, there are few robots in disguise more entertaining than the Decepticon Seeker Starscream. The Transformers franchise has had a presence on the page, the screen, and the colored panels for over 30 years ever since these bots first debuted in 1984. Starscream assumed the role of Decepticon leader on Earth following Megatrons defeat and the destruction of the AllSpark.
